OUR STORY
Katie and Ben’s story began their freshman year at the University of Alabama, where they met through mutual friends in the dorms. What started as a college romance quickly turned into something much deeper. From football Saturdays and late-night study sessions to growing up side by side, they spent all four years of college together, building a love rooted in friendship, laughter, and unwavering support.
After graduation, Ben made the move to Arizona, and the two began the next chapter of their lives together in the desert—embracing new adventures, new memories, and a future they were excited to build hand in hand.
For Katie’s birthday, Ben planned what he claimed was a simple trip to Sedona to ride ATVs. But once they arrived, he had something far more meaningful in mind. Ben led Katie to a scenic overlook at Cathedral Rock, where—surrounded by Sedona’s iconic red rocks and with their beloved red Labrador Retriever by their side—he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him.
Following the proposal, the newly engaged couple celebrated with lunch in Sedona before heading back to Scottsdale, where the White and Fussell families had planned a surprise celebration. Katie and Ben were welcomed by their closest friends and family for an evening full of love, laughter, and happy tears—marking the perfect beginning to their forever.
